Romney Analysis

MY ANALYSIS OF MITT ROMNEY

While doing this I have found that whether an item falls under "Positive" or "Negative" is largely subject to my own opinion. Although I am trying to think on a larger scale about them, about how they would affect America. And yes this is all ridiculously preliminary. I will be doing this for other candidates as well.

POSITIVES- Supports one strike, lifetime GPS tracking for offenders caught "preying on children through the internet"
-Wants to give sex offenders much tougher punishment.
-Supports death penalty.
-Wanted to abolish parole, limit probation, and end furloughs and release programs for violent or repeat offenders
-Supports reducing crime by improving our education system
-Supports harsher punishment for repeat drunk drivers
-Supports voucher program to allow students/parents to decide what school the child goes to. And opposes the unions running everything.
-Wants students to learn English as soon as they start school.
-Opposes gas taxes and supports alternative fuel and new vehicle technologies.
-Supports investment in nuclear energy and drilling in ANWR.
-Responded very well to Big Dig crisis. He immediately went to work on fixing it. Going so far as to demand and receive the authority needed to oversee and fix the project himself. But ONLY with the advice of the best experts available.
-Supports having a strong military.
-Wants to change the way we trade with China in order to make it more balanced.
-Supports deporting ALL illegals.
-Opposes chain migration
-Supports making English the national language

NEGATIVES- Still defends RomneyCare while blasting ObamaCare. Even though both are near identical trainwrecks for healthcare.
--He changes his stance on an issue about once every 10 minutes. Once supported abortion. Now he is against it but doesnt support punishing a woman for having partial birth abortion. Voted for abortion law even while opposing it. There are many examples of Romney flip flopping. This guy makes John Kerry look like a statue.
--Vetoed emergency contraception for rape victims.
--Thinks Reaganomics will fix our economy. I think that line tells you all you need to know about what he would do for our economy as President. "Trickle Down Economics" doesn't work. And Reagan tripled the national debt as President.
--Opposes gay marriage. This shows that he is out of touch with what really matters and is out of touch with the people.
--Believes our government has the right to spy on us to keep us "safe". Yet believes that enemy combatants are entitled to habeas corpus.
--Voted for bank bailouts.
--Supports cutting taxes on corporations.
--Supports No Child Left Behind, an utter travesty in our education system.
--Believes that healthcare is working because 47 million Americans "refuse to pay".
--Never enforced immigration laws as Governor and never went after "sanctuary cities" in his own state.
--Doesn't believe investing in our infrastructure will help our economy.
--Vetoed $220k that would have went to help the homeless.

MY THOUGHTS: It is hard to trust a guy that flip flops so much. There isn't really any way to trust that he will do what he says, because he might change his mind the next day. He has some pluses but has too many negatives for me to vote for him.
